First organic milk produced in Ukraine according to the European standards
The first organic cow milk produced in Ukraine and certified according to the European standards arrived onto the shelves of Kyiv’s shops in November 2010. The Ukrainian producer of the first organic milk is the EthnoProduct Corporation based in Yasenivka, Chernihiv region, a member of the EthnoProduct Organic Agriculture Group.
All of the EthnoProduct Group farms are located far away from industrial production centers, surrounded by forests and pastures which are free of pesticides and any other type of agrichemicals. No GMO is used directly or indirectly in the course of the agricultural production at EthnoProduct. The EthnoProduct farms grant cows abundant access to fresh air and open-field pasturing in accordance with international organic farming requirements, as well as provide cows’ with the on-farm produced organic feed, natural preventive veterinary treatment and non-abusive keeping.
The cows’ feed consists exclusively of organically certified types: fresh pasture grass & herbs, straw, silage and a bit of whole grains. The EthnoProduct farms do not practice force-feeding of the animals. The cows do not receive any artificial growth hormones, stimulants or feed additives including appetite stimulants. All on-farm born calves are fed organic fresh milk during at least the first 12 weeks.
The internal production of organic feed by the EthnoProduct farms is done according to the principles of sustainable farming without any use of agrochemicals or GMO’s.
The milk at EthnoProduct farms is cooled immediately after milking in order to preserve milk’s natural antibacterial properties and prolong the shelf-life of the milk. We do not interfere with the contents of the milk. The milk fats remain natural: between 3,2 and 4,2% depending on the season, lactation period and other natural factors..

The EthnoProduct’s cycles of production are carefully controlled by the certifying authorities who inspect the soil conditions, the husbandry norms, storage, transportation, distribution etc.
All of the production stages at EthnoProduct today are certified in accordance with the European Union requirements and controlled by the Institute for Market Ecology (IMO, Switzerland).
